About Moonrise Flowers

Hi, I’m Tess, the person behind all the flowers! I grow and design all the flowers here at Moonrise Flowers. The farm is on about 1 acre in Corvallis, Oregon, and I grow a wide variety of specialty cut flowers, with a big focus on flowers for drying.

Flowers are a great way to slow down and connect with the wonder of nature. I grow the flowers that I find especially enchanting and delightful so that you can experience the beauty, fragrance and presence of specialty cut flowers in your home. Dried flowers have been a big focus of mine because it is especially magical to see how they keep their color, scent, and form preserved over time. I love sharing that sense of enchantment with others through dried flower wreaths and bouquets.

I started farming in 2009 on organic vegetable farms, and I fell in love with the connection to plants and nature that comes with growing a wide variety of crops from tiny seeds to abundant harvest. Over the many years working in agriculture on the East Coast and all over Oregon (from Ashland to Joseph and many points in between), flowers have been a constant interest, on the margins of vegetable farms, in the prairies of Northwestern Oregon, and in my own gardens.

My growing and designing practices focus on growing premium flowers by creating healthy, alive soil; pollinator and beneficial insect habitat; and reducing the use of plastic and waste in all my growing, processing and packaging. I make 100% biodegradeable wreaths and use recycled, compostable, or reuseable packaging where possible.

My belief is that beauty, joy, and wonder can be something you can invite into your home and daily life in a way that makes a positive impact and truly connects you to the world around you through the magic of sustainably grown local flowers.
